  • Mainwa’s village is in the hills covered with Saal forest in Jorakath. She is a wonderful artist who paints beautiful peacocks and elephants. Her art reflects the images in the prehistoric rock art of the region. Her paintings of x-ray elephant and forest birds abound her painted house walls in her village. She paints in the Kurmi Khovar style of painting which is comb-cut work. She is one of the earliest artist who worked on Australian High Commission (New Delhi) project in 1993-94. She has been working on the Art Project of Tribal Women Artists Cooperative (TWAC) since 1995.
